Launa is a dedicated public servant and experienced local government leader with roughly 25 years of experience serving her community. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and has built her career through a diverse range of roles in public safety, public works, finance, and city administration.
Launa began her career with the City of Fontana, where she worked for three and a half years before joining the City of Moreno Valley. During her career with the City of Moreno Valley, she spent 10 years with the Police Department as a Management Analyst, followed by a year in Purchasing and Facilities. She then served for five years in Capital Projects within Public Works as a Senior Management Analyst. Launa went on to serve as Financial Resources Division Manager for two years and then as Chief Financial Officer/City Treasurer for just over a year. She currently serves as Assistant City Manager over Administration, a position she has held for the past year and a half.
Throughout her career, Launa has been guided by a strong belief in collaboration, kindness, integrity, transparency, and the importance of building meaningful relationships. She is passionate about mentoring others, developing strong teams, and creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. She believes that effective leadership is rooted in bringing people together, investing in others, and working collaboratively to achieve a shared vision.
Outside of work, Launa enjoys spending time with her family, attending country concerts, and enjoying the outdoors. She is married and the proud mother of two children, who are her greatest source of joy and inspiration.
