Ashley Bailey is the Strategic Communications Officer for the City of San Diego, serving the San Diego Police Department and Homelessness Strategies and Solutions Department. Ashley works to develop and implement communications and marketing strategies for a variety of topics including recruitment, crisis response, new programs and initiatives, and more.
Ashley’s experience in visual and digital media allows her to bring a fresh perspective to the City of San Diego’s police and homelessness-related communications efforts. She has served as the creative lead on branding, video and promotional projects, developed new websites for both departments, and worked toward strengthening police-community relations.
A small-town Kansas native, Ashley studied Public Relations and Spanish at Kansas State University, before moving to Spain where she earned her master’s in Visual and Digital Media from I.E. Business School in Madrid. She previously worked as the Deputy Director of Communications and Director of Digital Media for former San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer.
