Based off the creative lifecycle of the most recent City of Riverside Fire Department’s Strategic Plan (typically a real snoozer), this session will focus on strategically and purposefully soliciting, creating, and sharing historically shelved projects. As government professionals, we have a large volume of mandated documents and reports to produce, a turn & burn checklist, per se. Oftentimes they are completed and tossed to the side, never to be seen again. Now more than ever is the time to be intentional every step of the way. In this session, we will discuss ideas on how creatives can leverage minimal resources to give typically lackluster projects a longer shelf life, a more meaningful purpose, and a deliberate reprieve from collecting dust sitting on a back table. This session will integrate the use of photography, graphic design, storytelling, language access, digital accessibility, and even a heavy dash of common sense.
