Name
Working with Elected Officials During a Crisis
Description
Imagine you are running a Joint Information Center (JIC) during a major crisis. The phones are ringing non-stop, your stress is through the roof. And now politics enters the fray…You learn the mayor is on the way and she wants to speak. A city council member is accusing responders of failing to manage the situation properly. A homeowner is arrested for failing to evacuate and his county supervisor speaks out against it. The sheriff/coroner won’t release the name and cause of death of a victim. You can discuss these issues and more with a panel of veteran PIOs who have seen it all. Also, you can test your own skills during a lightning round "What Would You Do?" session.
