Georgia Rios is a Communications Specialist for the City of Santa Clarita—the third largest city in Los Angeles County. In her role, Georgia works with departments throughout the City and external clients, such as the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to create marketing campaigns, develop social media content, write articles and press releases, cover events and more. In 2020, Georgia was recognized with the City’s Communications Team for CAPIO’s 2020 Frank Potter Cowan Crisis Communications Leader in recognition of their efforts during two of the City’s most impactful emergencies – the Tick Fire and the Saugus High School Shooting. Georgia continues to refine her skills and implement new ideas in her position. Georgia is proud to have helped create two campaigns, one which engaged the community during the COVID-19 pandemic by finding healthy ways to manage stress in the City’s open spaces and one dedicated to helping small businesses struggling during the global pandemic. Born and raised in Santa Clarita, Georgia is passionate about working for her community and creating valuable content and information for residents.

Georgia earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis on Broadcast from California State University, Northridge.
