Joel Zlotnik is the Strategic Communications Manager for the Orange County Transportation Authority, an agency responsible for delivering transit, highway and active transportation projects, programs and services to keep Orange County moving.
He manages the Public Information Office, providing leadership on issues management, messaging and media training for the agency’s executive staff and 17-member board of directors. He is the agency’s primary spokesperson and oversees media relations, corporate communications and crisis communications.
Before joining OCTA in 2007, Zlotnik worked as a journalist in Southern California, including nearly a decade as a reporter and editor at the Orange County Register. A resident of Orange, Zlotnik holds a journalism degree from the University of Arizona.
