Developing a robust strategic communications plan is critical for enhancing your capabilities as a government communications professional. A well-crafted plan sets your organization or department on a trajectory for success and serves as a comprehensive roadmap with clear goals, objectives, strategies and tactics. This will be an interactive session that will teach CAPIO members how to create a plan that can be scaled up or down to create a PR plan for an entire organization or a single issue or crisis. Participants will receive a workbook that they can use during and after the session.The session will be presented by Robin Rockey, APR. Robin is a former CAPIO Board member and nationally recognized government communications leader who has served in PIO roles at California cities and special districts before launching her firm, RockSpark Communications + Marketing, in 2020. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the PRSA Orange County Chapter, and the Universal Accreditation Board, which oversees the APR credential. She enjoys mentoring CAPIO members and helping them advance their careers in public communications.
