Karla Rivas is a dedicated public servant with over 10 years of experience in public service and currently serves as a Public Information and Communications Officer for Lancaster School District. Raised in her local public school system, Karla is a first-generation college graduate, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from California State University, Long Beach. She further distinguished herself as the first in her family to obtain a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Throughout her career, Karla has been committed to building and sustaining strong community relationships. She values the responsibility of serving as both a voice and listener for the communities she represents. Her professional work is centered on addressing systemic barriers and advancing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for those she serves. In her personal time, Karla enjoys reading, spending time with her family, reading, and caring for her chickens.
