Wendy Aguilar is an award-winning communications professional. She’s a passionate storyteller with a unique combination of communication, media, and business management skills.
As a Media & Communications Specialist with the Sacramento Fire Department, she is responsible for media relations, public information, event coordination, content production and social media management. In 2021, Wendy started the department's TikTok account which now boast more than 122,000 followers. This platforms features unique videos like, Loki, I am Sacramento Fire and the award nominated What's for Lunch? series. Some videos have gone viral reaching millions of subscribers.
Her experience in public relations began when she joined the award winning Communications team at San Juan Unified School District in 2018.
Before joining the world of public relations, Wendy spent ten years as a multi-media journalist. A graduate of California State University Northridge, she worked as a television reporter, producer and anchor for CBS, ABC, CW and Telemundo affiliate stations in Arizona, California, and Texas.
But it all started in business management. While getting through college, Wendy spent years managing a financial service office in her hometown of Santa Clarita. During her time there, she became a licensed insurance agent, tax preparer and certified notary public.
When she's not busy trying to come up with the next viral video series, Wendy enjoys traveling, hiking, practicing and teaching yoga.
