Jayli Barkley became a member of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office in 2018 after a 17 year career that spanned both private and nonprofit sectors. She began as a Victim Services Supervisor, supporting staff who served witnesses and victims of crime through the criminal justice system. Her role also included collaborating with partner agencies to provide culturally centered trainings and presentations to their staff.

Jayli currently serves as a District Attorney Information Specialist. Her tasks involve community engagement, program creation and facilitation, public interaction, social media, intern coordination, and cultural contribution within the office. In reference to cultural contribution, Jayli is the co-creator of C.O.D.I.E, an acronym that stands for Culture, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. C.O.D.I.E is a working group made up of personnel from all sections of the DA’s office who create opportunities to expand, acknowledge, celebrate, and honor the diversity of the DA’s office to better understand and serve Riverside County. Jayli also facilitates the Cultural Responsiveness module for the annual 40-hour Domestic Violence training that teaches professionals within the public service field how to effectively and appropriately respond to situations that could involve culturally specific resources and tactics.

Jayli earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and a concentration in Juvenile Justice from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
