With a nearly 30-year career in community relations, Lilian De Loza-Gutierrez has implemented numerous successful community engagement programs for transportation, housing, public facilities, retail and environmental remediation projects at the federal, state and local levels. Currently, she serves as Director of Community Relations at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) on various projects, programs and initiatives that help improve mobility options for LA County residents. Lilian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in community outreach to multicultural communities and public involvement programs that comply with the California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act (CEQA/NEPA).

Lilian is fluent in Spanish and her commitment to diversity issues extends to her work with Hispanas Organized for Political Equality Leadership Institute. She has also graduated from other leadership development programs including, Eno Foundations’ Multi-Agency Exchange Program and Metro’s Leadership Academy. She has served on the Board of Women’s Transportation Seminar-Los Angeles Chapter, Hispanic Public Relations Association and Advancement of Latinos at Metro Association.

Lilian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Occidental College and a Master of Science in Transportation Management from San Jose State University. She has had the pleasure of serving her community as a planning, transportation, housing and environmental commissioner in the City of Alhambra where she resides with her husband of 26 years and three daughters.
