Kelley Donaldson, Community Affairs Manager for Monte Vista Water District, has 25 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, and media relations. She began her public sector career with the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District, where she developed community programs, executed a variety of events, lead the agency’s community engagement effort as well as served as the District’s Public Information Officer and media relations coordinator. Kelley joined the Monte Vista Water District in 2018. She manages water use efficiency, community engagement, customer communications and legislative advocacy programs, leading a team of three.
Through her various communications and public engagement roles, Kelley has sought opportunities for collaboration to expand engagement efforts and broaden messaging to impact positive behavior change in things like fire prevention or conservation. Developing a support network, identifying community resources, and assembling a team with diverse skills are key to successful collaboration and engagement. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications: Public Relations from California State University, Fullerton.
