Ty Wood has over 20 years of non-sworn law enforcement and 10 years of social media, media, and PIO experience. He began with the Clovis Police Department in 1999 and has worked in Patrol, Youth Services, Investigations, Jail, Animal Services, Property, and Dispatch. In 2012, Ty started the department’s presence on social media and in 2017, began handling it full-time. In 2019, he became Assistant PIO and in 2021 was selected as PIO. Currently, Ty handles all media and public relations, our department’s main and recruitment website, mobile app, and social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Nextdoor, and Neighbors. He is a member of the department’s Crime Scene Unit and Recruitment Team and was an Explorer Advisor for 10 years. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Fresno City College and is a member of CAPIO and GSMO.
