Description

Director, Certified Public Communicator® Program at TCU, City of Cathedral City's Communications & Events Manager and Cathedral City’s Fire Chief will discuss recent climate disaster events in California, including Tropical Storm Hilary, which produced a once in 1000-year storm system in some areas of the desert. The session will detail internal and external vulnerabilities, the importance of cohesive communication, and the necessary adaptation to the new climate realities around us. The session won't just focus on real-time and debriefing the disaster, but also what comes next for public communicators as the threat for these storm events increases each year.
