Anne founded Sagent in 2004 in response to the challenge: 'What would you do if you knew you could not fail?' She set out to create her dream job—applying strategic marketing expertise to make the world better. Sagent was purpose-driven from the start, before that became a movement. In 2019, Sagent became the first certified B Corp headquartered in Sacramento.

Sagent began working with CAL FIRE in 2007 on a statewide media buy that required earned media and partnership development, despite having just one obstacle: a budget of $25,000. The success of that project led to additional projects and eventually to Sagent becoming CAL FIRE’s marketing partner, developing the Ready for Wildfire campaign. This campaign has been highly successful in motivating Californians to take action to protect their homes, property, and families from wildfire.

As part of her commitment to giving back, Anne serves on the boards of four nonprofits and a start-up, and mentors other business founders. She was recognized by the SBA as Women-Owned Small Business of the Year for the 21-county Sacramento District. However, Anne insists that all the amazing results Sagent achieves are only made possible by its team of 19 members located across California, the East Coast, and part of the year in Guatemala.
