Christine has over 20 years in education, outreach and communications experience. Her first experience with forestry and fire began as a seasonal fire fighter for the U.S. Forest Service. The experience stuck with her as she transitioned to a career in nonprofit environmental education developing hands-on programs for K-12 youth on the topics of forest health, water quality, watershed protection and agriculture.
Christine provides leadership and strategic guidance over education, outreach and strategic communications, overseeing statewide campaigns for fire prevention, defensible space and forest health. As a Governor’s appointee, she coordinates with leaders from the California Natural Resources Agency and the Governor’s Office to promote statewide wildfire prevention and mitigation initiatives and provides communications strategy support for programs across the department.
