Matt Brown has worked for the County of Sonoma for four years. Currently serving as Deputy Communications Manager, he helps oversee a Communications Division that is responsible for public messaging, strategic communications and engagement for more than 20 County departments. During his 25-year career, he has worked in nonprofit communications and as a journalist. He was a reporter for The Press Democrat in Santa Rosa, and served for six years as the editor of the Petaluma Argus-Courier. He has a master’s degree in journalism from San Jose State University and served for two years in the Peace Corps in Guinea. He lives in Santa Rosa.
