Jaimee Blashaw is the Public Affairs Manager for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department where she is responsible for the positive promotion of the Department’s people, programs and events. She supervises the social media and video production teams, helping to tell the Department’s story and educate the community.
She also is a member of the Department’s media relations team where she works with her partners in facilitating media interviews and coordinating the Department’s crisis communications response.
Jaimee helped develop and co-teaches a 40-hour, POST-approved Effective Law Enforcement Communications Course, educating law enforcement leaders on best practices in media relations, crisis communications and social media.
Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Department, Jaimee worked as an account executive for the public relations firm, Cornerstone Communications, handling media relations and communications for law enforcement, health care, real estate and non-profit clients.
Jaimee started her professional career working as a journalist for nearly nine years with the Orange County Register. She graduated in 2005 from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism.
