California High Speed Rail - sharing progress while building for the future

There are plenty of stories to tell when it comes to building the nation’s first high-speed rail system. With 119-miles under construction and more than 1,200 workers dispatched every day, the California High-Speed Rail Authority needed a place to highlight progress as it builds for the future. was created to fill the growing need for construction communication with both the public and the media. It is an interactive website that provides a close-up look of construction in California’s Central Valley. Complete with information on upcoming road closures and detours, videos and downloadable images and descriptions of the numerous construction projects underway, and human-interest stories highlighting the number of workers who are making high-speed rail possible, is jam-packed with unique content for everyone, whether you’re a high-speed rail novice or enthusiastic rail buff. 

This session will walk you through how high-speed rail communicators utilize the art of storytelling, photography and videography, and social media to highlight progress on the nation’s largest infrastructure project and make that information accessible for media contacts and community members.
